The U.S. has been equally dominant with 5-0 and 3-1 victories over the same two countries. Canada and the U.S. have met in the gold-medal game in all but one Olympic tournament and the two appear on collision course to meet in the final this time around.

Bloemen looks to build on his silver medal from the men's 5,000 metres, but will be in tough against Dutch legend Sven Kramer, the silver medallist from Sochi.

Bloemen holds the world record in the distance, breaking Kramer's eight-year-old mark in 2015. The 31-year-old was fourth at the 2017 worlds while fellow Canuck Jordan Belchos placed sixth.
Men's hockey, Canada vs. Switzerland, Thursday, 7:10 a.m.-9:30 a.m. ET
Canada enters the Games as the two-time defending Olympic champions, but are far from being clear favourites as the lack of NHL players has the field wide open. The Canadian squad is comprised mostly of veterans and will be captained by former Ottawa Senators centre Chris Kelly.
