Friday's final round robin draw served only as a preview to Saturday's men's semifinal at the Canadian Olympic curling trials in Winnipeg between former teammates Kevin Martin and John Morris.

A 5-4 loss by Winnipeg's Mike McEwen to Edmonton's Kevin Koe assured Morris a berth in the playoff round, despite his 7-6, extra-end loss against Martin's Edmonton rink on Friday.

Morris finished with a 4-3 record for sole possession of third place. Martin finished 6-1.

Brad Jacobs, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., awaits the winner of the next Martin-Morris matchup in the final, with a trip to Sochi on the line.

In other action from Friday's draw 14, Glenn Howard of Penetanguishene, Ont. lost 8-3 (7) to Winnipeg's Jeff Stoughton, and Jacobs finished with an unbeaten record through the round-robin with a 7-4 (9) win over Toronto's John Epping.
