This weekend the best freestyle skiers and snowboarders in the world will compete at X Games in Aspen, Colo., for a chance to win a coveted gold medal and prize money. X Games is invite only and features the best of the best in action sports.
What do you need to know about one of the biggest events of the season? We’ve got you covered.
Who (Canadians competing):
What: Competing for X Games bragging rights and a big chunk of prize money. In snowboard events, athletes will be competing for a purse of $504,600 US. In freestyle ski events, athletes will be competing for a purse of $282, 800 US.
When: January 23rd-January 26th, 2014.
Where: Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colo.

Winter X Games is a weekend of extreme sports action, concerts and parties for everyone attending. On Saturday, Grammy Award-winners Phoenix, from France, headline a show that runs from late afternoon into the evening. On Sunday night, Tiesto, one of the most recognizable names in electronic music, headlines the show.
